Apple is calling a media event later today. As usual all types of Apple fans are clamering to see what Apple intends to do
at their “Let’s Rock” event. There have been reports online that the entire Nano line-up will get a bump in memory, from its current 4GB/8G to 8GB/16GB. Apple will also introduce 9 colors in the Nano family, including orange (pictured in this post). Right now there are 6 color Nanos. There are yet more rumors out there that Apple will introduce a “tall” iPod that would enable users to turn 90 degrees to view a widescreen video.
The new iPod Touch has been little mentioned at all in the rumors online. Some would venture to guess that there would either be a price drop (similar to the iPhone) or a bump in storage capacity. Other are saying the iPod Touch would get minor cosmetic changes.
iTunes will also see a version change. Users can expect a upgrade notice from the current version, 7, to the new version, 8, with some major improvements, including a “Genius” playlist that will reccommend songs that the user does not own, but can easily purchase at the iTumes Music Store.
Apple will be holding their media event Tuesday, September 9th at 10 a.m. Pacific, 1 p.m. Eastern.
