Amazon offering discounts for old MacBooks The history of Apple as seen by Google

Apple has achieved what they need and want, they were named the most trusted name in the US.  A recent “Trusted Brands” survey named them to lead the list of 15 among young Americans.

107 21-27 year old trend setting panelists who were from New York, Los Angeles, Miami, and San Fransisco we asked to name the companies they trust and respect the most.  With Apple on the list are Ben and Jerry’s, Red Stripe, and Adidas.
“Our trendsetter panelists are most attracted to companies that keep things simple, who are frank and straightforward in their marketing, who demonstrate an independent spirit, who aren’t trying too hard to be ‘cool’, and who are clearly guided by their customers’ best interests,” said Barbara Bylenga an executive at the copmany who did the research.

The interesting thing about that statement is that all of these companies are trying to be “cool”.  And in Apple’s case: they are one of the most secretive companies out there.  They create an environment that makes users chomp at the bit at any bit of official news (ala Steve Jobs’ Keynotes).  This keeps the pack hungry for more.

Apple certainly has achieved a status they were always looking out to get.  Some of us Apple fans know what goes on with their marketing strategies and although they make a good product, you can never trust any companies who has the bottom line foremost in their thoughts.
