Apple is currently taking orders for its new AppleTV media center. There has not been much detail released on “what’s under the hood” of this device. Of course, it’s been leaked out…The AppleTV has a 1.0 GHz Pentium M processor with 64 MB of video ram. The system uses 256 of DDR2 ram (soldered to the board).
The 40 GB internal drive is 2.5″ PATA. That can store about 50 hours of video, 9,000 songs or 25,000 pictures.
One of the key features of the AppleTV is the networking. You can join a network on either a 10/100 LAN jack or 802.11n wireless network. Sorry, no Bluetooth.
