Sony released the Playstation 3 in Japan and sold all 100,000 units. People lined up outside the stores for hours to get their hands on Sony’s new gaming console.

Stores devised a lottery system to see who would get the units first and not giving the PS3s to the people in the front of the line.

Some stores warned their employees that customers may rush the line so much as to cause injuries to themselves.

By the time of the US launch there should be 400,000 units available.
