MontGras Reserva Merlot (2004) (3/5)
A few folks have told me to check out wine from Chile. I never thought of that before, so I decided to give it a stab. I tried the MontGras Merlot. Back in 2002 they won the best Chilean Wine producer award.
Although they claim that the wine has a plum aroma my not-so-well developed sense of smells could not sense it but my taste buds picked up a hint of cedar with a hint of drieness I’ve been looking for.
It’s not the best wine I’ve tasted, but a good venture into a “New World” wine. I’ll post updates as I continue to try this merlot.

Now that I’ve tried this for the past 2 or 3 days I’m really starting to like this. It’s not too dry, not too much of one flavor. I think I’m digging this wine.
