The Hampster Dance
For some crazy reason I started singing the hampster dance song. The
original page did’t have the orginal “score” or dancing hampters. So I found another site called “webhamster.com“. Have fun.
Nintendo Wii
I had a chance toay to play with the Wii from Nintendo. I am totally hooked. Please buy one for me and my family so we can spend quality time together. Merry Christmas.

This is a great video for every person who tried to burn an ant with a magnifying glass when they were kids…

I had this on the list last year and still think it’s kind of cool. This does not rank high on my holiday wish list, but would still be neat to have. Hey, no one every said that this Christmas list thing was what you needed, just what you wanted.

No commentsViolent video games can now be sold (again) to LA minors
Earlier this year a law passed in the Louisanna legislature that banned the sale of violent video games to people under the age of 18. Not soon afterward the video game industry filed a lawsuit. A lower court judged put a temporary injunction against the law…banning the law temporarily. Now a federal judge has ruled the ban unconstitutional.
The law was passed in June to prohibit the sales of violent video games using the Miller test among other issues. Videos would be banned…
- If they appealed to the minor’s morbid interest in violence” according to “contemporary community standards,”
- If they depicted violence inappropriate to minors according to “prevailing standards” in the adult community, and
- If they lacked “serious literary, artistic, political, or scientific value for minors.”
I’m glad that the seperation of powers (legislature, judiciary, executive) still exsists to some degree in this country. I think the Louisanna legislature to be concerned about flooding from hurricanes rather than having a 17 year old have a copy of Grand Theft Auto.
Speaking of which, I played/still play those games and I have turned out fine…anyone else?

No commentsWii sales not so…tiny.
Since the North American release of the Wii on November 19th the Wii has sold over 600,000 consoles. Nintendo, the maker of the Wii, said that in the first eight days of it’s release they have made about $190 million. That number includes first-party software (like Zelda) and accessories (extra controllers).
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess has alone sold 454,00 copies. Nintendo has said that there will not be a shortage of the consoles for the holiday season boasting that 150,000 to 200,000 units will arrive per week from overseas.
Zune can’t get any help.
As if the jokes from late-night television hosts about it weren’t enough…a large number of sales people at box stores don’t even know they sell the Zune.
Not only that, but some of the sales people who know about it say it’s too heavy or steer customers to the iPod. As a matter of fact, 75% recommended the iPod with 8% recommending the Zune.
This lack of awareness goes beyond the 40 electronic box stores surveyed. It seems Microsoft isn’t pushing the Zune to the mainstream. Unlike the iPod whose advertising was everywhere (ala silhouette ads) the Zune is staying mostly using online venues to sell their product.
Has Microsoft missed the boat? Is there something up their sleeve? Do they even care about the Zune now that the XBox 360 is selling well? We’ll have to wait and see.
